Reservoir Characterization
Workshop Overview
A reservoir’s life begins with exploration that leads to discovery, which is followed by delineation of the reservoir, development of the field, production by primary, secondary, and tertiary means, and finally to abandonment. Integrated, sound reservoir management is the key to a successful operation throughout a reservoir’s life.
The understanding of the reservoir is facilitated through an integrated full field dynamic model, based on state of art reservoir characterization, interrogating the dynamic data with the static model that capture the reservoir features, and key elements affect the reservoir behaviour. Dynamic data diagnosis and understanding integrated with the geological understanding is a pillar of successful dynamic model that replicate the reservoir history. This course is designed to provide many tools and techniques to help address the challenges of in reservoir characterization providing a more reliable and sound reservoir engineering description. Participants can learn a wealth of classic information on the concepts and processes involved in reservoir characterization.
The course presents insights about data acquisition, reservoir performance analysis & flow dynamics. The course is mostly designed towards building experience dealing with Different cases and field examples, published cases or none officially published, and the strength the problem-solving capacity of the individual while constructing and history matching a model.
